Documentary

My new feature length documentary, now in production, is The Fastest Bicycle in the World

We are now looking for corporate and individual sponsors for The Fastest Bicycle in the World, if you are interested in getting involved, please do get in touch. The film is the latest in a trilogy of cycling films, the others being Bicycle and Mountain Biking the Untold British Story. In 2020 Bicycle was named by Road CC as one of the greatest cycling films ever made. You can find a link to that film below.

How did I get here? I’ve been making documentaries since 1990. My first film Scala (40 mins) is about one of London’s most famous and indeed infamous cinemas, in Kings Cross. The Scala showed all sorts of weird and wonderful fare, often at all night sittings. Some would call it a flea pit and many would almost call it home. Not long after my film was made, the cinema was forced to close when Stanley Kubrick took them to court for screening A Clockwork Orange which he’d forbidden in the UK. Scala is my first film and one of the most popular, not least because it’s one of the few documents of the cinema while it was open. And for a first effort, it’s really not bad at all. 2020 will be the film and therefore my career’s 30th anniversary. I’ll be adding links here to celebrate.

Since Scala I’ve made films for most of the UK broadcasters – BBC, Channels 4 and 5, ITV including the RTS winning Danger UXO and Psycho and have released work online through Amazon and into UK cinemas. Making documentaries is an extraordinary privilege and I’ve travelled the world through them, from the Ho Chi Minh trail in Laos, to the Nevada Desert in USA and I’ve had quite a few adventures closer to home. There’s a full list of credits on imdb http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1282420/

I’m always looking for new documentary opportunities, so please do get in touch if you have a story to tell. I’m available to freelance at or below standard industry rates to direct and produce, and can offer self shoot and edit options.
