https://lnkd.in/dMcC4nYt It’s back to school week. I made a short film about a new Wellesbourne bike bus and am now looking at the stats since it started. The bus runs on average 1.5 times a week with 17.5 people. There are around 39 school weeks in a year, so on that basis there’ll be 1023 bike journeys on the bus in Wellesbourne since its inception in March this year, through to March ’25. Word is spreading and the film is inspiring bike buses as far apart as Malvern, Leamington and London.
Just on a local level, if all 40 primary schools in Stratford district had a bike bus with similar numbers, that would result in 40950 journeys by bike per year, a lot of kids having fun, over 40,000 good starts to the day and quite a few less cars on the road.
