Project Greenway

Film Production often uses a large amount of resources, from the long haul travel of international documentaries to the construction of sets for drama that are simply thrown away at the end of a production. I am committed to finding new ways to making films that minimise their impact on the environment.

For my short drama film, Number 3, we used Albert’s carbon calculator to assess our impact and organised a team outing to join volunteers at The Heart of England Forest planting trees to offset our footprint and hopefully create a carbon surplus.

Working with Iconic Productions in Birmingham, I am currently making a series of shorts for the City Council and Colmore BID, using low carbon methods. For our piece about Restauranter Jaimon George, made for Colmore BID, we were able to claim ‘No Motor Vehicles Were Used in the Making of this Film’, which was shot entirely by bicycle and electric skateboard!
